I've had this sitting in my mailbox for a few days now, and I finally got around to it. After giving this a listen, I'm not sure why I haven't done so earlier. This is a straight BANGER!
The White Rhino is a rapper born and raised in Brooklyn. Rhino’s music begins in hip-hop and takes you to a new, emerging genre—an undefined space occupied by stars such as Kid Cudi, B.o.B, and Kanye West. One important distinction: Rhino wrote and performed nearly the entirety of the infectious sounds and impeccable arrangements on his eponymous debut album. You can hear the hard work in Rhino’s explosive sound. Genre labels are meaningless to him and he exercises his talent for flexibility and transcendence in every song. The sounds and styles weaved together in his debut come together to form an album dripping with diversity, an absolutely impressive piece of work.
